Recent Site Updates 09/08

There's a couple of new cars in the Reliant Gallery, One new Middlebridge found and entered onto the Gallery sector and at long last I have managed to finish researching the Middlebridge history and add it to the site, (Hope you like it  and I will of course edit and add data as it becomes available).

We have started a Recommended Garage Guide and should you know of one please let us know and we will add to the approproate area.

There are plenty of cars from concours to cool in the For Sale area.

Should you know of any Middlebridge's not listed please let us know, were always looking for more cars for the gallery.

Thanks

Site History and Goals.

This site started as a typical “Individual Owner” first attempt at  a website. However because the site contained a Gallery sector it soon started to expand in all directions and develop to suit what other Middlebridge owners and enthusiasts wanted from the site, I have attempted to illustrate below the site progression.

1)       Within a few months of hosting the site it had developed into MESS (Middlebridge Enthusiasts Scimitar Site) it was obvious from the emails received that people wanted info, Data, History, Events and For Sale-Wanted and more from a common source bearing in mind that the huge majority of site visitors have direct connections with Middlebridge in some way.

2)       The site has started to attract Middlebridge owners and enthusiasts via Google etc and this has helped find cars that have never before been seen, these cars are now catalogued in the Gallery sector with pictures and a write up.

3)       The site has enabled several “to date” ex-Middlebridge staff members to make contact with people that share a mutual interest for the first time in 20 years; these people are at the moment supplying data that will soon find its way to the history area of the site.

4)       As the site has now developed and grown beyond belief I felt that I needed the help of someone with the same Marque dedication, enthusiasms, determination and the same Middlebridge Goals as myself…

5)       Dr Dan Mitchell (Dan) and I are now quietly beavering away moving towards our next target in the quest to unite a group of likeminded enthusiasts and hopefully to one day stage a large Middlebridge event for owners and anyone with M.B. links (Watch this space for updates).

6)       The above event to celebrate 20 years MB has been suggested by several owners and we will be talking with the RSSOC very soon. (Watch this space.)

Disneyland Paris Classic Car Extravaganza.

This was the inaugural event and it will be staged again next year so if anyone’s interested…..

We decided to take our daughter and granddaughter in order to combine our touring holiday with some rural French scenery and of course two very full days exploring the Disneyland Paris Resort during which time the car was on display in a secure area directly adjacent to the Disney Village, alongside many well known and famous icons such as Herbie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Delorean from Back to the Future.

On the third evening there was an all inclusive Wild West night (thoroughly enjoyable) and after the show an award ceremony was held with awards for selected vehicle categories.

The Middlebridge Scimitar was classified in the Sports Car category along with Porsche’s, Ferrari’s, Morgan’s, MG’s, Panther’s, Panther De Ville’s, Jaguar’s, Mustang’s Healey’s, Stag’s and plenty more exotica…..

No one was more shocked than me when it was publicly announced that the rare Middlebridge had just been pipped at the post and came a very close second in the above category.  :o)

We met up with some great people there who really made the whole experience one to remember (Hopefully see you all at the Pickering Show) ,  if anyone would like to consider it for next year just let me know and I will arrange full details to be sent directly to you when something is finalised. Mess News

Thank you and a request for help.

May I take this opportunity to thank all the regular site visitors for their input and support. After receiving suggestions on site improvements I have now altered the Galleries to facilitate five pictures and a comprehensive write if required.
I am more than happy to use old photographs, which I will convert to C.D. and return both to you usually within a week.
At the moment I have no new Middlebridge cars to add to the Gallery, so if you can help that would be great. The minimum I need is a VIN No (Black and Sliver plate – Last two digits) Photo or Photos, and ideally the SNM No. (Small alloy plate on the right hand side.)
I am currently focusing on updating the other new areas of the site,
ie: Events, Blog, Downloads and the News areas but please bear with me as work is demanding more of my time and on my weekends I fly out the country. “My mother is ill.”

We met at the N.E.C. 2007; it would be great if you could drop me an e-mail. I would love to arrange to meet up for a chat about all things Middlebridge.

Regards,

Mick.
