Having fitted the heated front windscreen, that pulls 40 amps, I found that the alternator was not up to the job with everything else switched on. I ended up with a flat battery after several short trips at night.

The standard fit one puts out 90 amps. After a lot of research I managed to source a new one rated at 120 amps. I established that it was for a Landrover. The pulley on the alternator had to be re-spaced so that it lined up properly when fitted into the car. All part of the price at £169.00p. All the electrics seem to work better at low revs, no doubt because of the extra grunt. I purchased it from Rotec, Unit 2, Station road, Sutton in Ashfield, Notts 01623 453586.
