Middlebridge 32
This is a two owner car that was resprayed in her original colour during 2003.
This Middlebridge was professionally converted to run on a twin LPG systen specifically designed for the 2.9 Cologne EFI engine, The car ran beautifully on on LPG with more torque low down than before, economy was very slightly down but as Gas was at this time well under half the cost of petrol it made total sense!!
She ran on LPG for 100,000 miles and the oil was the same colour coming out as when it went in, She made trips from Scotland to mid Cornwall and back again without topping up with fuel, this was due to the two 60ltr gas tanks fitted (See Pic 2 Rear of car) you also needed to use some petrol from the tank to finish the journey.
At approx 185,000 miles She started to run a little uneven on LPG and the heads were removed only to discover the valves were badly burnt, these were replaced and on inspection of the block the bores were perfect and there was no wear ridge at the top of the cylinders.
The present owner now lives in OZ and would dearly love to export the car to his new home paperwork and legislation permitting
(I certainly would love to see a MB in OZ.[09.09]
