Middlebridge 48
The second owner purchased this car in February 2001 from his next door neighbour and in spite of it looking great in the pictures it could do with a respray and has covered over 200,000miles from new. [08/08]
This car is for sale via Slice August 2008 issue. [09/08]
This car found a new owner xmas 2008 and is now the subject of a running restoration but eventually will also need paint.
Between 2008 and 2010 this car attended various RSSOC and Middlebridge events and looked well in spite of having some paint blemishes, an interior requiring work and some electrical gremlins. During 2011 the then owner sadly parted company with the car (He had to reduce his Classic Fleet) ;o( however the car now had a truly enthusiastic owner that would finally treat this very high spec' car to just what she needed. Upon purchase she was transported straight to a workshop where she was given a full mechanical /electrical inspection followed up by having all of the faults repaired. Next on the agenda was the interior, the leather needed a really good deep clean and some replacement colour matched material sewn in, the door cards and rear quarter panels were all removed and thoroughly cleaned prior to refurbshing them all and re-assembling the interior to return it back to its former glory. While the interior was out the MB rims were sent away to be powder coated and new wheel centres were also purchased from the original supplier in Perth, Australia.
She was now a very good looking high spec Middlebridge one that any owner would be proud of but this story does not finish here, her owner went to town and treated her to a 195 BHP 2.9 replacement Cologne Engine and a high specification BGH type 9, 5 speed Gearbox, (Yes she has now also been converted to manual transmission). Improved cooling was also introduced as a precaution although no problems with cooling had been experienced in the 4000 miles since the conversion was done. Her shocks 'n' suspenders were past their prime and the extra power and torque really took its toll and saw her duly treated to a set of adjustable GAZ shocks & springs and hey presto the car was transformed ;o) [05/12]
Car sold via the Middlebridge site [11.12]
The New owner of MB 48 has already treated her to a lovely paint job and having seen her I can vouch that she looks stunning in new coat of Porsche Pearl Blue which was her original colour. [12.08.13]
On or around 02.03.2021 Middlebridge No 48 was stolen from the owner's driveway, we all hope that the car is found and returned to the owner. Should anyone see a Metallic Blue Scimitar with a magnolia interior for sale or abandoned please be aware and call the Police. We sincerely hope she is not broken up for parts and both the MESS and the RSSOC will be on the lookout for and such items coming up for sale. It is now nearly 3 weeks and no sign of the car at all.
